The north woods are calling and our Board of Directors have come up with an answer:
Rainy Lake Minnesota/Canada.
This is a six-day, five-night adventure with class and comfort. No wilderness training for this one. Enjoy the wilds of Canada from the deck of a 50-foot houseboat. Ten fun loving people needed with swimsuits, cameras, suntan oil, fishing poles, and the desire to sing rowdy songs around a campfire should send their applications in to Dick Means ASAP. $150 will hold your spot. The balance will be due when we board the boat.
I am fine tuning the price but it still depends on what we spend on, carpool gas, and one night hotel fees will add up to about $600. Meals groceries, beverages, and miscellaneous extras, permits and fishing licenses will be additional expenses. A ballpark maximum is $700 for the eight days that we will be gone. A current passport will be required. Each houseboat tows a fishing boat with motor.
We have 6 signed up. We want to leave early on the 3rd and spend the night in a hotel north of the Twin Cities. We plan to arrive mid-morning on the 4th, shop for groceries, pay, board the boat and find a camping spot. After 5 days on board, return on the 9th and head for home.
