Here is the information to date that is known regarding the Jingle Cross activities on September 24.

Head to the website Jingle Cross and get details and information on the World Cup that is being held on Saturday, September 24 at the Johnson County Fairgrounds, 3109 Old Hwy 218, IA City, IA.

General admission tickets for ages 10 and over are $15 and can be purchased a number of ways. I purchased mine on-line.  Apparently the general admission ticket will get you in all three days since I didn’t need to specify a date when I purchased mine.  It may also be that there is no charge for Thursday evening or Friday’s events.  I wasn’t able to learn that from the web site.  It did state that parking on Saturday is $10 and free the other days.  Another option that will be available is an Iowa City bus that will be running from downtown to the fairgrounds.  Event tickets can also be purchased at the local bike stores in IA City, Coralville and North Liberty (they are all listed on the web site above).  Understand that the general admission tickets do not get you into the grandstand or any seating.  Wear good walking shoes since you can stand and watch the races anywhere along the nearly 2 mile trail (3.1 Kilometers).

The Deschutes Brewery beverage festival will open at 11 AM as well as food vendors.  A road race is scheduled in the early morning if you want to make it a full day event.  Three sets of fun races start at 11:45 for kids’ ages 18 months to 9 years old on a shortened World Cup Course.  There are several other fun events including some attempts to race/climb MT Krumpit.

The World Cup Women’s race begins at 3:30 and the Men’s is scheduled at 5:00 PM.

I think the weather that day will help individuals decide if they want to spend the whole day or just the afternoon hours to see the “main event”.  With the cost of parking we will want to consider carpooling.  Watch your emails for last minute updates.
