Keystone - January 23 - January 30
We are pleased to announce that 24 members of the East Iowa Ski Club will be going to Keystone, Colorado on Saturday, January 23 through Saturday, January 30, 2021. This will be a drive yourself or car pool only trip because of concerns over flying due to the virus.
The club will be staying in the very nice Settlers Creek Townhouses (3 bedroom/3 bath) on the nearby golf course – a 7 minute shuttle ride to the gondola. As you will see, this is a fantastic price for an excellent trip! Staying 7 nights in the condos and a 5 of 7 day lift ticket to Keystone that is interchangeable with Arapahoe Basin (11 minute shuttle ride away) for only $915. The cost for the condo only without lift ticket is $525.
The club is happy to name the Trip Leaders for this exciting Keystone adventure:
Kathy Takes and Steve Simmen.
Kathy has led several great trips in the past and this will be Steve’s first experience assisting with the lead on a West trip. We are fortunate to have such positive & dedicated members to lead the trip. Please remember to thank our volunteer
Trip Leaders for all their hard work to ensure our trips run as smoothly as they do.

Keystone is the only major West ski trip the board has approved for 2021 because of travel concerns among our members that were expressed in the recent survey. We are planning to provide a safe, fun ski trip for the EISC and this seemed the best way
Keystone Resort is located in Summit County, Colorado, just a 1 ½ hour, scenic drive from Denver. Every level of skier can find their own section of the mountain to call their own. Beginners will love the “learning area” off of the Ranger chairlift, as well as all the green runs off of River Run Gondola. Skiers of all levels, will enjoy Keystone’s many adventure Zones, which are fun, zippy tree trails and mini-themed camps. Intermediate skiers will find they can ski all three of the lift-accessed mountains, but the best blue trails are to be found off of the River Run Gondola, with epic, sustained cruisers like Frenchman and Irishman. Expert skiers and boarders have nearly 50 percent of Keystone’s 3,000 acres to themselves, and can enjoy moguls, glades, steeps and small chutes. Powder hounds will delight in all the snow-cat-accessed terrain off of
Independence Mountain and Wapiti Peak.
Tucked away in the White River National Forest of the Rocky Mountains, Keystone Resort is the largest ski area in Summit County, Colorado. Spread across three peaks—Dercum Mountain, North Peak and the Outback—the resort boasts more than 3,000 acres of skiable terrain. From gentle groomers, rolling cruisers and steep bumps, to gladed terrain, powder-filled bowls and the award winning A51 Terrain Park, Keystone is the perfect playground for all ability levels from beginners to rippers.
Settler’s Creek Townhomes, where the club will be staying, is located on the east side of Keystone Resort off of East Independence Road. This complex offers a quiet mountain
getaway and many amenities with easy access to the rest of the resort. The always popular Minnie’s Cabin is a favorite. It’s centrally located within the complex with an outdoor, heated pool and two hot tubs. Also outside is a grill area with seating and a beautiful two-way fireplace. Inside guests will find a large flat screen TV, a pool table and the other side of the fireplace mentioned above. Turn on the game, fire up the grill and enjoy some quality time with family and friends.
The Snake River runs north of the complex where guests can take advantage of some fishing or enjoy the scenic views. Two shuttle stops are conveniently located within the complex and can take guests anywhere in the resort. Amenities include free wireless internet, private laundry and parking for each property.
The Keystone Resort is an EPIC resort property. It is a short drive to Breckenridge or Beaver Creek for our members that have their EPIC pass.
Please join the fun with your EISC skiing friends and sign up for this Keystone – drive yourself winter adventure!
