Freedom Festival Cardboard Boat Regatta
Registration is not Required
EISC will be entering the 2024 Carboard Boat Regatta in the Exhibition at 10:00 am on June 8 in memory of long-time member, Steve Sutliff. He loved the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival and he participated in many events every year. He and Dave Perkins worked together building cardboard boats in the Regatta. Steve raced the red-white-blue kayak in 2005 earning a second-place trophy. Sadly, he passed away in 2006 at the age of 61.
Plan to arrive at 9:00 am at Ellis Park at Robbins Lake located at 2550 Ellis Blvd, NW (between Edgewood Rd and the boathouse harbor). Bring a chair or a blanket to sit on. You are welcome to wear EISC t-shirts or green bandanas. This is a FREE event.
Cardboard Boat Regatta:
- Exhibition: 10:00 am - 11:00 am
- General competitions: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
