Canadian Rockies/Alaska Cruise Recap

On September 1st, 16 EISC members flew to Calgary and got on a bus to see what Canada looked like in the off-season (non-ski).
Along with bus passengers from Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the UK, we toured and hiked Banff National Park, visited numerous beautiful lakes, walked on a Glacier, toured the rejuvenation of Jasper National Park after last year's devasting fires, observed the current fires sending their smoke to Iowa, toured Butchart Gardens, and, as always, enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow Ski Club members.

Ten of us then proceeded onto the Zaandam, a Holland America ship, added two more members, and toured Glacier Bay including one day in Glacier National Park with National Park Service Rangers on board. We enjoyed whale watching, train riding and touring Juneau and Skagway. It was truly a great experience with boots and poles.
