EISC Members: Tomorrow – Saturday, 7/22 Kathy and Jim Takes are once again hosting their annual “Takes to the River” event. Anyone interested in kayaking should plan to be at the farm between 1:00 and 1:30pm to shuttle to the starting point in Cascade. It’s a two to three-hour float that will end at the farm. Kathy says the river is more than high enough.
Jim is having some health challenges (heart surgery scheduled for July 24th) so this will be a potluck dinner this year. They will not be grilling burgers or onion rings. The plan is to eat at about 5:30. Bring a dish to share and your own beverages and eating utensils!
Stick around after supper to enjoy the bonfire and to share a few stories. It’s always a good time, so if you don't have anything on your calendar that weekend, head to Kathy and Jim’s and explore – it is just a few miles from the White Water Canyon area. Kathy and Jim are looking forward to seeing everyone and visiting with their EISC friends.
If you do not wish to kayak, bring a chair and your drink of choice and visit with friends under the big oaks. The farm is located about two miles east of Cascade at 3985 245th St., Cascade, IA 52033. If you have questions, please feel free to call Kathy Takes at 563-599-2819.
