The first West trip is to Steamboat Springs, Colorado from January 31 to February 7, 2026. We will be skiing the Champagne Powder and staying in The Lodge at Steamboat condos, in the village, one block from the gondola. We will have room for 30 members staying in 3 3br/3bth and 3 2br/2bth condos. We are happy to have veteran Trip Leaders Chip and Diane Scholl back to host this adventure.
The last two trips (2018 was the last time) the club traveled to Steamboat it was in early January so we could see the Cowboy downhill and it seemed like early season snow. This time we are later in the year and will hopefully have better snow. The resort has changed a lot since our last visit. Alterra (Ikon) made a $200 million investment in recent resort improvements at Steamboat. It is now the second largest ski resort in Colorado. The new Wild Blue Gondola is the longest and fastest 10-person gondola in North America. The Greenhorn Ranch is a state-of-the-art learning center, reimagined après ski plaza, pumped up snowmaking capabilities, and 650 acres of new expert terrain with an all-new winter trail map. The new terrain increases Steamboat's trail count to 181, lifts to 23, and skiable acreage to 3,741.
Steamboat isn’t just a resort, its Ski Town, U.S.A®; where visitors gather by the fire or float through the Champagne Powder® snow. Stroll down Main Street and refuel with a hearty meal from over 100 bars and restaurants. Learn to ski at Greenhorn Ranch, our terrain based dedicated learning center.
