This Sunday, August 8 is the adventure of a Quad Cities Road Trip. If you wish to car pool with others, meet at the south end of the Target parking lot on Edgewood Road by 10:30. I will be in the Quad Cities already, so organize yourselves and head out.
The Putnam Museum, 1717 W 12TH ST opens at noon. Explore the exhibits for a good hour. The movie about the National Parks is at 1:30. It may be a good idea to bring a mask for the indoor activity.
Around 2:30/3:00 we will be at the Front Street Brewery at 421 W River Dr for a late lunch/early supper.
There are a number of no cost activities nearby such as the Sky Bridge, the River Walkway, the Bucktown Art Galleries, Vander Veer Park.
We will want to be at the Backwater Gamblers site by about 6:15 at 5000 44th ST, Rock Island. Their web site says to drive in past the bleachers for parking. You can bring lawn chairs but the best viewing of the show is from the bleachers. Have some cash on hand to give a donation for the show.
